Legalization Initiatives 2016
Collectives shall educate their members and the community regarding the responsible use of cannabis, the potential risks and benefits of cannabis use, and other issues impacting their well-being.
Pro-legalization advocates want Congress or the Obama administration to reclassify marijuana under sentencing laws so that it would carry lesser or no criminal penalties. Marijuana is currently considered a “Schedule I” drug, a category that includes heroin and LSD. Even cocaine is deemed less dangerous than pot under federal law.

Benefits of Joining GLACA - For Collectives and Cannabusinesses
After a moratorium on accreditation to allow our members to adjust to the legislative landscape, we are phasing out affiliated membership and requiring all members to be re-accredited yearly to retain their membership to GLACA. We will no longer publish important updates on the GLACA Riseup.org listserv after March 31, 2015 as we are shifting to an online membership management platform, which is available through this website.
Accreditation with GLACA is dependent on filling out our the application form and your agreement to follow GLACA's Protocols (also attached). All members of GLACA must be Pre-ICO and currently Prop-D compliant. Please apply! We are stronger as a community.
Once we receive your application, we will call to confirm that within 30 days our team will conduct a surprise full accreditation / secret shopper visit.
After our visit, our accreditation professionals compose a report of what we observed and suggestions to improve your business practices, helping ensure that your collective is operating within the law. The charge for this service is $225.
Once you have made any adjustments necessary to pass accreditation, we introduce you at one of our monthly membership meetings, and you can proudly display the GLACA logo.
Accreditations are valid for a year (with a 3 month grace period to allow you to renew without incurring additional fees).
Monthly membership dues to GLACA are $250 dollars. As part of your membership we are excited to offer you a number of valuable services as well as participation in several new and ongoing projects:
